WTO and Developing Countries

The World Trade Organization has commissioned Inquit to write a number of publications. One of the first—in 1999—was “WTO and Developing Countries”, which described the impact on Developing Country members of the Uruguay Round Agreements and the provisions that the agreements made specifically for development.
The hard-cover version of the book is now out of print; the last copies sold at the Doha Ministerial Council meeting. But Inquit also produced an on-line version of the text that was distributed widely by WTO. Because, in 1999, the Internet was not widespread in developing countries, we licensed a small web-browser that fit, along with the compressed HTML and images, onto a single 700k ‘floppy-disc’.
The on-line version is available here. Because very few changes have been made to the Agreements since they were first adopted in 1994, the text of WTO and Developing Countries (although not the trade data) is still pretty accurate.
