About the database

This database contains all of the data from the World Bank Distortions to Agricultural Incentives project. The tables display, however, only 10 of the 81 fields of the World Bank data. The purpose is to help you to select data of interest to you by product, country, year and region. You may then download the data displayed (10 fields) or the full data-set (81 fields) corresponding to your selection, in spreadsheet format (comma-delimited).

How to use the database

You must complete at least one field to start a search. If you search on more than one field the records returned are those that meet every criterion.

If you choose to specify a year you must use a 4-digit number between 1955 and 2005 (for most countries). You can use a leading angle-bracket to chose records before or after the nominated year.

Countries in the database have different production profiles. When you select from the country or the product 'drop-down' menus, you will see information about the products/countries in the database that are relevant to that selection.

Note that you can choose to sort the report (table) by any of the fields using the 'arrows' in the table header. You can also filter the results using terms in the results (text field).
